ISC Supporting the Grand Traverse Conservation District

On a beautiful sunny day in April, Brenda and Camille worked with other volunteers of the Grand Traverse Conservation District, planting trees where the dam was removed within the Brown Bridge quiet area. Many different kinds of native tree saplings were peppered along the banks of the Boardman River just outside of Traverse City to help reestablish the path of the river, reduce erosion, and provide habitat for plants and animals. We look forward to seeing these saplings become large, beautiful trees that many will enjoy as they are paddling this stretch of river, or just enjoying the scenery in the quiet area.
